Hoarder Vickie leased a storefront to hold her belongings.
By Anna Chan
At first glance, Vickie and Jeff's home appears pretty normal. The living room, dining room and kitchen are all pretty tidy. So what is this pair doing on "Hoarding: Buried Alive"?
Venture into other parts of their home, and Vickie's 20 years of compulsive hoarding become apparent. Three of the five bedrooms in the couple's house are filled with her things. Then there is also the storage unit -- also filled to the brim -- the couple rents to hold the items that don't fit in the home.
"I've considered walking away from this marriage several times ... just because of this," said husband Jeff in an exclusive clip TLC shared with us. "I just physically and mentally have had enough, and I told her if something wasn't done this year, I would probably walk."
But things were even worse than he realized. What he didn't know is that his wife later rented out a second storage unit, and when that filled up, leased a 9,000 square foot storefront commercial space.
As if her hoarding and secret (giant) stashes weren't enough, Vickie also has their three grown children lying to him.
"My kids know about my storages," Vickie admitted to TLC's cameras. "I've asked them not to tell their dad."
See how bad the problems are in this exclusive clip TLC shared with us:
With the help of a clinical psychologist, Vickie faces her hoarding problem and comes clean with Jeff on Sunday's episode of "Buried Alive." The episode airs at 9 p.m. on TLC.
If you were Jeff, would you be able to forgive Vickie for the lies and be able to work together to save the marriage? Or did she go too far with the secrets? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page.
